This seminar is specifically developed for the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund’s Business Sustainability Challenge participants. The seminar will provide an overview of “why” benchmarking is critical to success in manufacturing. After a brief overview of the “why”, a detailed step-by-step roadmap on the “how” to utilize this important tool will be provided. Attendees will learn the key information required to utilize the tool and how to establish a common metric to allow for comparison of each facility in their portfolio. 

Even if you have created your own benchmarking tool, this seminar will provide invaluable insight into the “why” and “how” of benchmarking, including:

  • The primary purpose for benchmarking
  • Utilizing benchmarking to position projects
  • Detailed road map for utilizing the EPA Energy Performance Indicator Benchmarking Tool and how your own tool applies
  • The benchmarking process including gathering the key data for entry
  • Determining the common metric across all facilities in your portfolio
  • How to create graphs and reports for internal meetings

learn about the US DOE initiatives to help you determine if LEDs are appropriate for your applications. An overview of the various DOE quality assurance initiatives will be provided to help you differentiate good products and applications and to widely distribute technical information regarding LEDs. The seminar will also cover how you can apply this information to your situation.

Come and join us in a three hour hands on seminar  in learning how to benchmark from scratch or brush up on your current benchmarking. We will review the data requirements and the mechanics of ENERGY STAR® benchmarking from start to finish. Bring your own facility‘s data and enter the data under guidance of one of the most active ENERGY STAR Service and Product Providers, Emerging Technologies Associates, Inc.. 

We will review the five-step data transfer process of SDG&E Automated Benchmarking Service (ABS): this will include tips on initiating ABS correctly and troubleshooting for the most common errors in inputting your facility data within the ENERGY STAR benchmarking tool, Portfolio Manager.  dreamstimemaximum_11841125

You will learn how accurate benchmarking is required for certain SDG&E® customers to participate in the Energy Efficiency Programs and how to create a baseline, verify and track your energy improvement projects. 

Finally, we will generate together and review the Statement of Energy Performance for your building and will briefly review the requirements of AB 1103 energy use disclosure. 

To take full advantage of the class, please bring at least one year of utility bills (electric, gas and water) and building attributes (Data Worksheet will be provided by SDG&E prior to seminar).
